Adventures in Africa
I experienced the trip of a life time in 2011. After deciding to get up and DO something, I chose Uganda, Africa as my first adventurous trip in the quest to learn from others and help where I could. I was able to stay with missionaries from Texas during my stay in Mityana, Africa. They helped me get connections in the community so I could volunteer and learn. Of course, I brought my camera along, I didn't want to miss anything! Below are some of the thousands of photos I took during my 2 weeks there. I cannot wait to go back!

On my first day there, Eric and I went into a villiage to do moral story telling. As we were leaving, a mother came up to us and asked if we would pray for her sick child. We were honored that she trusted us enough to bring us into her hut to meet her daughter, Ester. You will see the state Ester was in when we met her below. My trip turned into focusing all me efforts into helping her. I volunteered at an elementary school and visited a high school the second week, but most of my time was spent with Ester, at her village, the hospital, and the orphanage she eventually temporarily stayed at until her mother could get back on her feet and Ester was in a healthier state. She was 18 months when we found her.

I also spent a lot of time with Little David, who was found in about the same state almost a year to the date of meeting Ester.

Both children are HIV positive, had malaria, and were malnourished.
